What is a daily money manager (DMM)?
A Daily Money Manager is a financial professional who provides personal financial services to individuals and families, and who manages personal daily money matters such as bills, budgets, record keeping, etc. These professionals provide personal financial services to a variety of clientele such as older adults, people with disabilities, busy professionals and caregivers, high net worth individuals, and the small businesses they many own. In short, they provide personal business assistance to those who may have difficulty (or lack the time) to effectively manage their own personal monetary affairs.
What is a certified daily money manager (CDMM)?
CDMM stands for Certified Daily Money Managers (CDMM®). Carrie was certified at the beginning of 2019. They are financial professionals who have demonstrated advanced knowledge in the management of personal financial matters and have earned certification. The eligibility requirements include a background check, passing a certification examination, and obtaining a work experience requirement equivalent to 1,500 paid daily money management hours (this can include up to 250 pro-bono or volunteer hours) in a three-year span of time. Every three years the professional must complete at least 20 hours of continuing education units to remain certified.
“One of the hardest chapters in my life has been managing my mom’s finances as she aged and required nursing home care. Just as difficult has been managing this financial journey and forms after my mom died. Carrie and Brightside have made this challenging journey easier and provided the professional bookkeeping services that I needed. Their assistance greatly helped when I had to file taxes and estate docs. I would strongly recommend Brightside’s services for those who need a thoughtful and kind professional assisting with their financial services. They were one of the best resources I discovered to help me with my aging mom.”
